Media Balance & Well Being:

Managing how much your students are online in the classroom and using social media is important. Utilizing online tools for part of an assignment can be good for your students but, it is important to me that they are also hands on.

Privacy & Security:

- It is important for students to be safe online, practicing safe skills online is something I will utilize in my classroom before any online research or lessons.

Digital Footprint & Identity:

- Depending on what grade I teach, a lot of students may not know that what you post online stays online, forever. Being cautious of what you post is important. Below is an image that I think puts things into perspective.

Relationships & Communication:

- Making sure that students do their best to be respectful and appropriate when answering questions online, replying to their peers or submitting an assignment to me.

Cyberbullying, Digital Drama & Hate Speech:

- Being online and using social media comes with a lot of responsibility. I want my students to know that if they see something that could be cyberbullying, that I am a safe space for them to tell.

News & Media Literacy:

- Allowing my students to know that there will be false/disinformation on the internet and that not everything they see will be a real or a fact.
